Good afternoon,

Hello students, consul general Rick Savone, Sino students, ladies and gentlemen, after listening to the national anthem of people republic of China and Canada, and after watching the fantastic, wonderful dance performance by such talent group of students, I really feel like coming home to BC, even I have been to china almost 2 weeks. It is wonderful to be here with you all today, on behalf of communist clerk, province of Columbia; it is giving me a great pleasure to congratulate Sino-Canada high school on this 10th anniversary.

同学们好, 尊敬的总领事Rick Savone 先生, 枫华的学生们, 女士们先生们, 在听了中加国歌之后,并在看了精彩的如此有才能的学生表演之后, 我真的感觉已经回到的不列颠哥伦比亚省的家, 尽管我已经在中国2个星期了. 今天能和你们一起在这是非常美妙的, 我想代表BC省政府祝贺中加枫华学校建校10周年.

This school is among pioneers for BC 35 offshore school program. He has grown significantly over its 10 years, and he has earned a reputation for exceptional quality. Acquiring and maintaining this reputation takes dedication from the owner, the staff and the students. That dedication and hard work has been sustained over long time. The province of Columbia recognized the significant accomplishment and we congratulate the founder of Sino-Canada high school-Ross Yuan and all of you on this success.

这所学校是最早由BC省政府认证的海外开办的一些学校之一. 这10年来这所学校卓著的成长,而且因它高质量的教育获得了声誉. 获得和维持这样的声誉需要学校的创始人,员工和学生共同的努力,而这种投入和努力一直在持续着. 我们不列颠哥伦比亚省需要表彰这样的成就,所以我们要向学校的创始人原宗先生和在座的所有各位表示祝贺.

BC considers Sino-Canada high school are important education partner. You have demonstrated the important of some international education, and provide the significant opportunity to you all students. For BC, international education is one of our priority sectors, and China is one of our most value partners. China was top source country for international students in BC in 2012, accounting for 21% of total international student’s population. And around 32% of international students from China study in Canada, living and learning in BC. International education helps BC create and sustain job, economic and activities. And BC education institutions have be very active in forming partnership and cooperative arrangements with institutions here in China, But international education also create connections between people, cultures and ideas. When you learn a new language, when you are introduced a new culture, the best way you can do is to use it every day and be surrounded by it.

不列颠哥伦比亚把枫华学校看作是一个在教育领域的重要合作伙伴, 这所学校显示了国际教育重要性同时,也给学生带来了重要机遇.对不列颠哥伦比亚省来说,国际教育是我们最重要的产业之一, 中国是我们最重要的合作伙伴之一. 在2012年当中, 中国成为我们不列颠哥伦比亚省外国留学生的的来源国, 来自中国的学生占所有外国留学生当中的21%, 而所有在加拿大学习的中国留学生其中32%都在不列颠哥伦比亚. 国际教育帮助我们不列颠哥伦比亚省创造,保持工作机会和经济活动. 而不列颠哥伦比亚的教育机构一直非常积极的在和中国朋友建立合作伙伴关系和合作安排.与此同时,国际教育同样还对人际间,文化间和思想间建立情感. 当我们学习一门语言时,或者是融入一个新的文化当中,的方式就是能够沉浸在当中.

I remember my family immigrate to Canada BC 24 years ago, my daughter was 7 years old, she just finished her elementary school education, she couldn't understand English , she couldn't speak English, and she landed in Vancouver, she was totally in the foreigner country, she is like deaf, she can’t understand any language. This second day after we arrived, we quickly throw her into elementary school, grade 2, I remember in couple of week’s time, she came back as body language from us because she was the second Chinese student in the whole Elementary School at that time when we were living in North Columbia. So she was totally fell into an environment that everybody speak English there’s no Chinese being spoken and so she quickly mastered the language. And strangely in love, there was when she was 7. When she graduated from University of Columbia at the age of 22, after I took her to China Hong Kong, trying to get her back to more speakers I was born educator and what in Hong Kong that I want her get the Chinese culture that she has never been met since immigrate in Vancouver when she was at the age of 7. So I took her to Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and at the end of it, she just found that suddenly the Chinese came out and she want to study Mandarin in China. So again I sent her to Beijing for one year studying of Mandarin, she could not speak Mandarin at all and one year later, she spoke better Mandarin than I. I wish I could have settled to the school like Sino-Canada High School yet that she could draw up in a fully bilingual language environment. She doesn’t have to spend another year study Mandarin. How lucky how fortunately, the student of the school they grow up in a fully bilingual environment and there is a bright future in front of each and every student. So after you study in Sino-Canada High School, I would like personally invite you to continue your studies in British Columbia. So you can see an experience firsthand what a special place that universities locate in a safe, beautiful and multi-cultural communities. And once you get your degree, we are doing everything we can to make sure there are opportunities for exciting careers. From the natural gas industry we developing to provide energy and improve the quality of living in Asia and around the world to Vancouver’s technology sector that is greeting in alternative of clean energy and solutions, video games, animation films and so much more. We need you and your expertise to British Columbia from secondary schools, we can’t wait to welcome you and make you feel at home. Congratulations again to the Sino-Canada School and all of you for the 10 years of success as a certified British Columbia offshore school and I look forward to sharing more celebrations and land marks together as we continue to bring the world to British Columbia and bring British Columbia to the world. 我还记得24年前我的家庭移民到不列颠哥伦比亚省的时候, 那个时候我女儿刚刚7岁, 她刚开始上小学, 完全不懂英语, 然后到了不列颠哥伦比亚省, 到了一个陌生的国家, 不懂当地的语言. 在我们到的第2天, 我们就立即把他送去上小学了,小学2年级, 我记得几周之后就开始用英语和我们说话了. 那时候我们住在蒙哥利, 她是整个学校里第2个中国学生,周围没人说中文, 一直用英文交流, 所以她很快就学会了. 她7岁的时候到了加拿大不列颠哥伦比亚省 , 当他22岁的时候从哥伦比亚大学毕业的时候, 我带她到中国的香港转了一圈, 我出生成长的地方, 而我女儿7岁就移民到加拿大温哥华就没回到过中国, 所以想让她了解下中国文化，我就带她到北京、上海，香港，转了一圈之后， 她突然发掘了自己身体里华人的血液，她说要到中国学汉语，所以就让她到北京学了一年的文化，等她学完一年之后，普通话说的比我都好。 而我很羡慕现在这样的机会如果我把女儿送到枫华这样的双语学校就好了，从小就会有这样一个双语的环境，然后将来在花一年的时间在去专门学普通话，可以说这里的学生是非常幸运的，成长在这样一个双语环境里面，而将有个非常光明的未来。 我个人很真诚的邀请这里的诸位中学毕业之后来不列颠哥伦比亚继续你们的高等教育。这样大家可以亲眼的看到和体验到我们省如何出色的一个档次。我们有着一个安全、美丽和蓬勃发展的多元文化的社会，我们那里有许多世界的大学。 而一旦大家拿到了大学学位， 我们也会尽我们所能来保证有着令人激动的事业机会。我们的种种机会包括天然气产业，我们的天然气产业将会为整个世界带来更多的能源，同时提高和改善亚洲和世界各地人民的生活质量，还有更多的蓬勃发展的技术产业不断的在推出创新的清洁能源的技术，电视、电脑游戏和动漫等等。我们需要在座各位的才华，而代表不列颠哥伦比亚和它的整个高校，我们热烈的欢迎你们，让你们到不列颠哥伦比亚来，把这里当作家。我们要再次恭喜中加枫华国际学校10年来作为一家不列颠哥伦比亚认证的海外学校获得的成功，我们也期待和你们一起庆祝未来更多的里程碑，让我们把不列颠哥伦比亚带向世界。
