Art and Design is only SHTCS featured program, it is also a compulsory course for non-art-majored students. In daily intensive course study life in an international high school, students often find it relaxing in art class, where they can focusing on imaging and creating, and use pencils and color to express their inner self.

Printing 胶板版画

这个月九年级的同学们学习了木版印刷技术。木版印刷是一种印刷以及批量复制文字、图像或图案的技术。它广泛应用于整个东亚地区，并起源于中国古代，是在纺织品和后来的纸张上印刷的一种方法。中国现存最早的印刷品可以追溯到公元220年以前。

This Month students have been working on woodblock printing techniques. Woodblock printing or block printing is a technique for printing text, images or patterns used widely throughout East Asia and originating in China in antiquity as a method of printing on textiles and later paper. As a method of printing on cloth, the earliest surviving examples from China date to before 220 AD.

Pop Art 波普艺术

波普艺术是高藤艺术生们上学期所学习的课程之一。它兴起于20世纪50年代，是20世纪60年代在美国和英国蓬勃发展的一项艺术运动，从流行文化和商业文化中汲取灵感。下面让我们来看看SHTCS学生的波普艺术作品吧！

Pop art is the project art students did last semester, which is an art movement that emerged in the 1950s and flourished in the 1960s in America and Britain, drawing inspiration from sources in popular and commercial culture. Lets have a look at SHTCS students’ Pop Art works.

African mask 非洲面具

非洲面具以它夸张怪诞的造型和其传统雕刻技术著称，是非常值得学习的艺术作品。我们在纯白的面具上进行了几种不同材料拼贴使用，比如羽毛、小毛球、布料和颜料。下面是同学们制作出的形态各异的面具。

The African mask is famous for its grotesque shape and traditional carving techniques, which is very worth learning. We used several different materials on the pure white mask, such as feathers, hair balls, cloth and paints. Here are the masks made by the students in different shapes.
