专业概况

在这里学什么？ This specialist pathway within the BSc (Hons) Sport, Physical Education and Health degree focuses on the applied place of Dance as a creative art and physical activity focusing on creative practice, teaching and performance. The design of the pathway will allow you to develop your knowledge, understanding and skilful practices in Dance alongside in depth academic and practical knowledge of physical education and youth sport. Consideration of the health and wellbeing agenda within both areas will also provide you with the skills and knowledge that will allow you to establish and sustain healthy lifestyles in others. The pathway focuses on the current place of dance in the areas of Education, Health and Wellbeing and in encouraging participation in physical activity. Through Cardiff Met’s excellent links with Industry, the application and development of dance in these contexts will be explored; there will be opportunities for you to engage in work-based learning and placement experiences over the three years that will support the development of future creative and innovative practitioners.In addition to the comprehensive theoretical and practical academic framework, you will be encouraged to build a portfolio of UKCC coaching qualification during your time at University. You will have access to a wealth of valuable experiential learning opportunities including National Governing Bodies and community sports initiatives. The SPEH(Dance) programme allows you to undertake some of the modules through the medium of welsh.Cardiff Met also offers a foundation year for those who aspire to enrol on a Sport based honours degree, who do not have the requirements to start at Year 1. The foundation year will run at the Llandaff campus within the School of Management, and the subsequent years will be based at the Cyncoed campus within the School of Sport and Health Sciences.
