专业概况

在这里学什么？ Are you interested in protecting and promoting the health of individuals, communities and populations worldwide? If so, then this course will provide you with an in-depth understanding of public health and its wider determinants from a local, national and international perspective.Populations globally are at risk from environmental hazards such as air pollution, use of plastics and epidemics such as Ebola. There has never been a better time to raise awareness and protect future populations.We will explore public health issues from a local, national and global perspective, looking at how public health has been shaped through history, and unpicking contemporary issues that affect health and wellbeing across the lifespan.Taught by experienced academics, who have worked in public health themselves, you will also gain an insight into policy and decision making, as well as looking in depth at health promoting initiatives, designed to solve complex public health problems.Alongside lectures and seminars, you’ll take part in student-led events and health promotion projects, and have opportunities to network with public health employers. The practical, highly relevant experience you gain will put you in a strong position for building your public health career.
