专业概况

If you want to pursue a career in education and have already earned a bachelor degree, the RMU post-baccalaureate teacher certification program will prepare you for an amazing career as a teacher. Robert Morris University offers several non-degree post-baccalaureate teacher certification options and students can choose a standalone certification program or take four additional classes to earn a M.S. in Instructional Leadership .

The following certifications are available:

Early Childhood Education Business, Computers and Informational Technology (K-12) Biology (7-12) English (7-12) Mathematics (7-12) Social Studies (7-12) Special Education (PK-12)

Affordable, manageable course loads

Content area course requirements vary by certification area but students may bring these credits in from their undergraduate degree programs. If these courses were not taken in their undergraduate program, students can choose where to take the content area courses. The professional knowledge courses provide students with the knowledge of educational pedagogy to enable future teachers to instruct across environments to all students. Finally, the professional block includes specific content methods of instruction and the opportunity for students to hone their skills in the K-12 classroom through pre-student teaching and student teaching.

Content Area Course Requirements: 36-57 credits These courses may have been completed during your first degree. If not, they can be completed at any accredited college or university (online included), variable cost depending on site, some pre-approval may be necessary. Talk to an admissions counselor for details.

Professional Block: 12-27 credits Methods, pre-student, and student teaching clinical experiences; Courses taken in the post-bacc program, RMU tuition rate applies

Professional Knowledge: 24 credits Courses taken in the post-bacc program, RMU tuition rate applies
