From shipbroking, and the transport of goods, to salvage rights and piracy, 90 per cent of world trade is carried by sea and you’ll learn about the commercial, economic and operational aspects of the maritime industry, while gaining a grounding in the varied and fascinating legal issues that arise in the sector. Our course has established a strong reputation within the industry, so you’ll be highly sought after when you graduate.The purpose of the undergraduate Maritime Business programmes is to provide a sound education for the International Shipping and Logistics industries. They cater for both entrants continuing from general education and more mature students with seafaring or other relevant industry experience.The four-year BSc (Hons) Maritime Business and Maritime Law programme has been developed to support those interested in a career in the maritime services sector. It was estimated in 2012 that the UK employed 14,000 persons in the maritime services sector, which includes broking, insurance, P&I, maritime law, ship finance, ship operations and maritime publishing/events management.The programme starts with a foundation year, specifically designed to introduce and develop essential skills for success in Higher Education, including critical thinking and research skills, and the knowledge and understanding of key facets of business, accounting and economics. In the following years of your studies you’ll deepen your knowledge and understanding of the maritime services industry and develop the skills necessary for a successful career. You can take advantage of our programme of visiting speakers to gain insider knowledge and important networking contacts and deepen your knowledge of the industry with field trips to ports and the City of London. 为来自中国的学生设计 Students need good grades in Senior High School Graduation Examination and the Chinese University Entrance Examination (Gaokao) for admission to year 1. Students need to have completed the Graduation Certificate - Specialist / Sub-degree (Zuanke) level (also known as the Dazhuan) will be considered for final year (top-up) entry. We generally require an overall 70 per cent grade or above but this will vary depending on the institution. Undergraduate programmes: ILETS 6.0 overall with Minimum component scores 5.5 in all four components (listening, reading, speaking and writing).课程信息
