专业概况

在这里学什么？

The mission of the program is to educate diverse, ethical, collaborative and holistic medical providers committed to eliminating health disparities.

This is an entry level full-time Master’s degree program that is 27 months in length. Classes will be scheduled every day and on occasion weekends and some holidays during the clinical year of training. Students will be expected to complete each term on time as a cohort and as sequenced in the curriculum before advancing to the next trimester.

Program Goals

The program goals integrate the medical arts and sciences to promote compassion, leadership, diversity, community service and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The Goals of the Program are to:

• Equip students with the skills to be knowledgeable in physician assistant practice. Assessment: PANCE, will publish pass rate beginning in 2021.
• Improve the delivery of health care by understanding the role of medicine in society and culture to expand social awareness of health disparities. Assessment: Graduate Survey to include data–areas of practice, patient demographics, medical/surgical specialties, and practice demographics; will publish data beginning 2021.
• Apply the arts and humanities in daily interaction in team-based care. Assessment: Graduate Survey to include data on IPE experiences with other healthcare professionalism; will publish data beginning 2021.
• Teach the professional and technical skills necessary to be a competent health care provider. Assessment: Graduate Survey to include on learning outcomes and experiences with our clinical curriculum; will be published beginning 2021.
• Provide knowledge and gain experience through service learning and community service. Assessment: Graduate survey to include community service activity; will be published beginning 2021.

Learning Outcomes

For successful completion of the course of study for the Master of Science degree candidates for graduation must possess the knowledge, skills and attitudes and judgment to function in a variety of clinical environments and provide care to a diverse patient population.

为来自中国的学生设计 A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. (Doctoral programs may also require a master’s degree.) A preferred GPA of 2.5 or above for the last 60 semester hours of undergraduate study, and a GPA of 3.0 for any graduate work. TOEFL - 80 iBT or higher; 550 - pBT or higher; IELTS - 6.5 overall band score or higher; ELS - Satisfactory completion of ELS – 112.
