专业概况

The B.A. in Financial Economics provides a curriculum that prepares students for careers in financial services industry. The program provides exposure to economic theory at the undergraduate level and to economics and finance courses that are traditionally offered separately in economics and business degree programs. The program focuses on analytical skills and workforce readiness working in financial planning, financial administration, banking, or other employment. The curriculum for the program is designed for flexibility and allows for students to double-major.

Major requirements:

Core Courses [21 credits]:

(a) ECO 117 (not required for internal or external transfers), ECO 217, ECO 317 [1 credit each]

(b) ECO 120, ECO 121, ECO 350, ECO 321 [12 credits] (grade of C- or better required)

(c) ECO 339, ECO 366 [6 credits]

Economics Courses [9 credits]:

(a) 9 additional credit hours of economics courses

(b) At least 6 credit hours at the 400 level or higher (not including core courses above or capstone)

Business Courses [18 credits]:

(a) Must include BUA 201, BUA 202, BUA 350, BUA 352 AND two of the following three (BUA 351, BUA 353, BUA 454)

Capstone Experience: ECO 489 (C or better) – credits counted in writing

Free Electives [15-20 credits]: Courses selected by student and advisor.

English language requirement: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) – minimum score of 79 (iBT) or 550 (paper-based test); IELTS (International English Language Testing System) – minimum score of 6.5; PTE (Pearson Test of English) – minimum score of 53.
