在这里学什么？

Good, current information is an essential component of good healthcare. A new breed of professionals is emerging to help both clinicians and consumers navigate and manage increasingly broad streams of health information. A combination of graduate training and practical experience prepares these specialists to work in any number of health-related fields, including clinical care, public health, consumer health, and medical research.

A master's degree for health information management

The University of Michigan School of Information (UMSI) offers a graduate program in Health Informatics, in partnership with the School of Public Health, the Learning Health System, the University of Michigan Medical School and other allied U-M divisions.

Through core courses, elective courses and an internship, Master of Health Informatics students build knowledge of the healthcare system and master concepts in health policy, information science and behavioral, cognitive and organizational science. They develop methodological skills in analytics, systems analysis, planning and implementation along with the skills required to create health information systems and resources that are truly useful to those who use them.

Students completing the Master of Health Informatics (MHI) will be well prepared to enter—and become leaders in—the health informatics field. Through their course selections, students shape their preparation to certain subfields, including clinical, consumer or public health application areas. Because there is integration and convergence among these subfields, all students will be required to acquire knowledge relevant to each of these subfields. Defining features of the program include its strengths in consumer informatics, population health applications and system-related human and organizational issues.

Our master’s degree is 52 credits and takes 2 years (4 semesters) of full time work to complete.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must complete a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. college or university accredited by a regional accrediting association; or Complete an international degree that is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree from a college or university recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education or Commission responsible for higher education in the country where the degree is earned. Other English Language Requirements: Paper/Pencil TOEFL & TWE score of 560; MELAB score of 80.
