Stamps MFA students join a supportive, curiosity-filled culture of makers and scholars. Fueled by the energy and expertise in our research university community, our concepts take shape and make an impact on the world. Idea and material work together at Stamps, as the curriculum supports students in the creation of culturally relevant work with a clearly articulated context. Graduates of this program will be prepared to thrive in a variety of public and private roles and become cultural leaders in a rapidly changing global culture.

MFA Degree Requirements

MFA students complete 15 credits of coursework per semester for a total of 60 credits at the completion of the two-year program. In addition, all students are required to have a three to five week International Project during the summer between their first and second year.

The curriculum is designed to accommodate a range of art practices, from studio-based inquiry to more scholarly, research-focused work.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must complete a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. college or university accredited by a regional accrediting association; or Complete an international degree that is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree from a college or university recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education or Commission responsible for higher education in the country where the degree is earned. Other English Language Requirements: Paper/Pencil TOEFL & TWE score of 560; MELAB score of 80.
