专业概况
在这里学什么?Whether you’re a recent graduate looking to jumpstart a communication career, a communicator who wants to build or advance their career on the global stage or a mid-career professional seeking expanded skills and digital fluency to move into communication management, the M.S. in Global Strategic Communication may be the perfect graduate program for you.
It’s a professionally focused, interdisciplinary, non-thesis program designed to prepare graduates for successful careers in public relations, advertising, digital and social media, corporate communication, marketing and related fields. It accommodates busy working professionals with evening courses and full- and part-time options.
What Will You Learn?
The program has small, hands-on classes that feature real-world client projects focusing on critical thinking, creativity, strategic planning and ethical communication. Students will:
Why Strategic Communication?
The traditional silos of public relations, advertising, marketing and digital and social media are eroding in today’s cluttered and complex media landscape. Communication professionals increasingly work across, rather than in, these disciplines – and need the know-how and flexibility to tap into all of them.
Strategic communication synthesizes digital and social media, public relations, advertising and marketing to communicate precise messages through the most effective channels to engage with the right audiences. Strategic communication can be a potent tool for change because it helps connect, educate, advocate and motivate.
Why Global?
Cookie-cutter messages and campaigns don’t cut it in our globalized world. As more corporations become multinational and as issues become worldwide in focus, communicators work in an increasingly interconnected world. They need to know how to navigate this complex environment by creating culturally relevant and sensitive messages and campaigns to engage a diverse range of stakeholders. Multicultural and multinational cases and perspectives are woven throughout the curriculum rather than limited to a single course. Study abroad is also a key element of the program.
