Project management offers excellent starting salaries for those entering the profession with prospect of enjoying salaries between £20,000 and £27,500 for those aged 24 and under. With career progression and experience this can rise up to and in excess of £70,000. The average (median) project management salary, as identified in a 2019 Salary and Market Trends Survey undertaken by the Association for Project Management (APM) is £47,500.
The Masters course covers topics such as how to assess project feasibility, how to manage risks in projects, how to keep people working together, and how to develop a portfolio of projects. There’s no need to have completed previous studies in project management and we welcome applicants from a variety of academic backgrounds.
This course also provides an exciting opportunity to study in the UK and France, combining a university experience with a valuable work-based programme. The course commences each September and consists of one semester of full-time study at Northumbria University, followed by a 12-month combined work training programme at L’École d'Ingénieurs du CESI in Paris.
Research Rich Learning
You will learn how knowledge in Psychology is developed through research and how to design and carry out research studies using a range of methodologies. Developing your own advanced research skills and critical understanding, you will have the opportunity to work alongside active researchers at the forefront of research in the Psychology fields. You will be encouraged to ask and explore innovative research questions, reflecting upon the research process and knowledge creation, culminating in the production of a research thesis.

This course meets a particular need for professional education in international project management.
Many of the modules at Northumbria involve field visits and guest lectures, giving you privileged access to experienced managers. Building on this through your work experience in France, you will graduate with a wealth of extra insights that increase your competitive edge.
This course will open up opportunities in project management roles across many different industries. Past graduates have gone on to work for a wide range of French and multinational companies such as Effiage, Bouygues, Vinci, Ingerop, Rendel Ltd, Pure Habitat, CBRE France, Veolia, BAE Systems, Volvo Car Group, NHS, Siemens, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Shell and Virgin Money. Job roles have included project managers, programme managers, project portfolio managers, project engineer, risk manager, BIM Consultant, quality managers and directors.
Whatever you decide to do, you will have the transferable skills that employers expect from a Masters graduate from Northumbria University. These include the ability to tackle complex issues through conceptualisation and undertaking research, the ability to contribute to new processes and knowledge, and the ability to formulate balanced judgements when considering incomplete or ambiguous data.
