2019年9月24日上午11点，秋阳皎然。上海枫叶国际学校全体师生在操场手持各色彩旗，静候起跑的哨音。上海枫叶国际学校加方课程校长Glenn Borthistle先生和来自Terry Fox 故乡的Cassandra Joy Clace女士作了饱含激情的演说，重申福克斯长跑的意义——Run for life!以下是学生感想分享。

上海枫叶国际学校2019年特里·福克斯长跑活动

这次的福克斯长跑对于我来说十分有意义，这已经不是我**次参加福克斯长跑，但每次参与长跑时对于福克斯精神都有更深刻的了解。尽管他18岁时患了骨癌并右腿截肢，但他仍然未放弃希望，奋力奔跑143日，共5373公里，为患癌同胞筹款。我作为一个身体健全的青年，仅仅绕学校外围跑一圈都觉得十分吃力，无法想象福克斯是拥有怎样的毅力，拖着残疾的身躯，不畏风雨，坚持不懈的进行马拉松长跑。如果遇到身边的癌症患者，我会尽我的力量为他们提供一些帮助，传递爱心，播散正能量。下一次我希望可以跑更长的路程并且希望了解更多关于癌症的知识。

枫叶记者社的同学借机采访本次活动的主办人之一Glenn Borthistle先生，得知原来他与这一活动有着极为特殊的。当Glenn Borthistle先生读高中的时候，正逢Terry Fox长跑活动兴起。Terry Fox不幸病逝时，他也像无数人一样悲痛欲绝。造化弄人，多年后自己的母亲又因癌症不治去世。 在Glenn Borthistle先生眼中，这一活动既是纪念重要人物、表达善意的方式，也是提醒我们健康生活的警铃。他说“今天我们聚集于此，不是为了分数，而是为了激励自我积极向上，为改变世界而努力奋斗。”

Oh it is easy to say,there were two things .The first thing is that I remember when I was in high school ,while Terry Fox were doing his run and everyone were talking about him.It was a big news so we all followed his running progress .When he fell in thunder bay it was a very very sad day .I think it is a way to remember him.The second reason ,that my flag added letter M which is for my mother whose name is Margaret.She died from cancer 19 years ago.She was very young just about 58 years old.That is the special meaning for me.So for Mapleleaf student,everybody should take time to remember people in their life that had cancer or other serious diseases.And they should take time to remember the struggle that they had fighting for diseases.They should also dedicate themselves to healthy living so they don’t get sick.Also to support researches so that cancer can be beaten!I think everybody enjoys being a part of school event that build our spirit to get our school of being together,and doing something for a important reason.We are not here to go to school,to get our marks.Although that is important but we all want to be a better people in the world,to make the world a better place.
