专业概况

The B.A. in Economics/International Affairs is similar to the B.A. in Economics degree, with emphasis given to liberal arts training with an international focus. Students enrolled in this degree program take foundation and advanced coursework in economics, modern foreign languages, anthropology, history, and political science. Potential employers for graduates include: private businesses, private consulting firms, government agencies, research organizations, non-profit organizations, and law firms.

The Program enjoys tremendous contributions from our research faculty, our top-performing students, and our active student organization. International Affairs is available as a major or a minor. All students select a thematic concentration focusing their course of study and expertise:

Canadian Studies

Comparative Politics and Area Studies

Culture, Conflict and Globalization

Economics

Global Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies

History and Development of the Global System

International Security

Language, Culture and the Humanities

Our students have received many prestigious internships and awards, and our graduates have started careers in international organizations, international business, diplomatic service, education, journalism and media, environmental organizations, and humanitarian work. Others have pursued graduate degrees in law, international relations, and numerous other disciplines.

The new program offers eight thematic concentrations; this fact sheet is about the IA-Economics concentration (School of Economics as primary field)

There is a five-course core requirement for all IA majors, with a grade of C or better:

INA 101: Introduction to International Relations

ANT 102: Introduction to Anthropology: Diversity of Cultures

ECO 121: Principles of Macroeconomics

HTY 241: History of Globalization

POS 120: Introduction to World Politics

为来自中国的学生设计 Clear, legible photocopy of graduation certificate or diploma issued by the Ministerio de Educación and Academic transcripts indicating all subjects taken and grades obtained. Students must have completed secondary/high school or university work. English language requirement: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) – minimum score of 79 (iBT) or 550 (paper-based test); IELTS (International English Language Testing System) – minimum score of 6.5; PTE (Pearson Test of English) – minimum score of 53.
