Dance at the University of Michigan offers a winning combination: a world class dance education within a leading research university. An extraordinary breadth of resources enables our students to bridge knowledge across disciplines and communities, and to gain an understanding of dance as a significant mode of inquiry.

Designed for students seeking a career in performance and choreography. Applicants should be trained in either ballet or modern and may have improvisational and/or choreographic strengths.

Curriculum

The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance requires a minimum of 120 credits: coursework is 75% within SMTD and 25% within the liberal arts. Coursework to include:

Modern dance techniques Dance composition Improvisation Ballet World dance Yoga Dance repertory

Courses in dance history, music for dance, teaching methods, dance production, art history, music electives, and anatomy for dancers are also required.

为来自中国的学生设计 Other English Language Requirements: MELAB (plus speaking): 85 range with section scores 80+ and 3+ in speaking; TOEFL (PBT): 600 range with section scores 57+; ECPE: Certificate with all sections at least a C; CAE or CPE: 185 with no less than 180+ in all sections (CEFR C1);PTE Academic: 68 with all sections equally strong.
