Acute care pediatric nurse practitioner is a challenging and rewarding advanced practice nursing specialty. You may find yourself working with a child at the end of their life to create special memories or helping a teenager manage diabetes so they can spend less time in the hospital and more time being a teenager. Acute care pediatric nurse practitioners are experts in the care of children with acute illness and multiple complex problems. These specialists work with patients, families and interdisciplinary colleagues to provide the highest-quality care for pediatric patients. As a graduate of our Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program, you will be able to deliver high-quality care, improved outcomes, shorter lengths of stay and greater patient and family satisfaction.

Learning and Program Plans

Our faculty will work closely with you to nurture your calling to provide care for sick children and find a clinical placement that’s right for you. Practicums are arranged by our expert faculty and offer learning environments conducive to developing expertise in acute care pediatric nursing at an advanced practice level. You will also cultivate advanced assessment and clinical decision-making skills. Graduates are trained to practice as advanced practice nurses with children who have complex acute, critical and chronic care needs. Emphasis is placed on advanced assessment, diagnostic reasoning, clinical decision making, therapeutic interventions and consultation and referral skills.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must complete a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. college or university accredited by a regional accrediting association; or Complete an international degree that is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree from a college or university recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education or Commission responsible for higher education in the country where the degree is earned. Other English Language Requirements: Paper/Pencil TOEFL & TWE score of 560; MELAB score of 80.
