专业概况

The Department of Epidemiology at Michigan Public Health is comprised of five concentrations: General Epidemiology, Global Health Epidemiology, Occupational & Environmental Epidemiology, and Hospital & Molecular Epidemiology. Each concentration uses a multidisciplinary approach to explore reducing disease in human populations in the pursuit of a healthier world.

The Global Health Epidemiology (GHE) concentration provides technical skills to work as epidemiologists in any setting, domestic or global. As with the other MPH concentrations in Epidemiology, the minimum 60 credits of coursework is typically finished after four terms (two years). The GHE concentration is highly interdisciplinary, providing theory, methods and practice training in the health and applied social sciences. Epidemiology faculty have ongoing research collaborations in countries throughout the world, including Argentina, Brazil, China, Colombia, Ecuador, Ghana, Guatemala, Haiti, India, Israel, Malawi, and Mexico. Topics related to these collaborations include cancer, chronic disease, drug-resistance, nutritional determinants of maternal/child health, reproductive health, social determinants of health, urban health, vaccine surveillance, and water-borne and vector-borne diseases. Students in this concentration are required to complete their summer internship in a developing country.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must complete a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. college or university accredited by a regional accrediting association; or Complete an international degree that is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree from a college or university recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education or Commission responsible for higher education in the country where the degree is earned. Other English Language Requirements: Paper/Pencil TOEFL & TWE score of 560; MELAB score of 80.
