专业概况

在这里学什么？ Chemistry is a fascinating area of science and central to understanding the world around us. Studying the distinctive programme at Kent, you are involved in live research and develop skills that can be applied to some of the key challenges of the 21st century – such as human health and the world’s increasing energy demands. The chemical industry is central to the modern world economy and chemistry graduates have a wide range of employment options open to them in oil, gas, energy and pharmaceutical industries, as well as in consumer products. At the School of Physical Sciences we link our world-leading research on materials chemistry to our undergraduate programmes – which are all accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry. All practical classes take place in our newly refurbished laboratories, where you use the latest equipment. We also have a specialist employer engagement officer who can help you secure valuable internship and training opportunities to increase your career potential. Our foundation year is for science students who do not meet the requirements for direct entry to Stage 1 of our degree programmes. It is also an excellent conversion course for applicants who have shown academic ability in non-science subjects. Applications to this programme will be considered for those who are returning to study following a period in work where they have gained relevant experience but do not have traditional academic qualifications.
