常言道陪伴是最长情的告白，守护是最沉默的陪伴。上海枫叶国际学校学子秉承着这一理念将西方的教书育人的素质教育亲身践行,与时俱进。成为高学术沉淀基础上具有高素养品质的枫叶人并走在了国际生态教育前沿。我们的莘莘学子做了一次感动成千生命的告白，以下是我们的蓝色使命。

As the old saying goes,companionship is the sincere proposal, guardianship is the silent companionship. Maple Leaf students have demonstrated this old saying by one of our core competencies – Social Responsibility. We regularly focus on the higher academic achievements but cultivating personal character development and social education is what keeps the world changing. We put our education theory into action and touched thousands of small lives, below is the story of our mission.

我们来到了传说中具有规模**，数量最多的南京流浪狗基地，平安阿福。我们满怀着欣喜，因为这里是他们生命得以延续的希望之地。而我们也准备好了成为中国动物关爱的践行者。

We visited the largest dog shelter in the province, indeed one of the largest in the Country, Ping An A Fu dogs shelter in Nanjing. We were excited and full of joy to see homeless dogs taken care of, and we are ready to be part of this new movement towards solving the homeless dog situation in China.

我们的外教Cassandra Clace 以教书育人的核心能力培养之一即社会责任心为初衷，将育人的教育形式从课堂走到了现实环境。诠释了新时代教育不只局限于课堂，而更多是社会这个大环境下的多维度育人理念。真的是人生哪里都是课堂。

The picture above is one of our B.C. teachers named Cassandra Clace. She believes that 3 words can explain what lead to this socially responsible activity; sympathy, empathy and compassion. From this activity we also see that the classroom is not the only place to educate our students. Thy also need a platform and an audience to get this educational message to – society.

那么社会责任心我们枫叶加方教育是如何去践行的呢?答案是只有三个词。对的就是三个词哦。Sympathy --empathy--compassion. 即怜悯之心，同情之心，知行之为。怜悯之心即感同身受，身有同感。同情之心即换位思考，理解对方的感受，并产生一种难过的情怀。知行之为即想要行动来减少对方的痛苦。而这正是社会责任心的内涵，来看看我们是何如把知识转化实践的吧!

Back to the core, social responsibility how do we develop this? Let’s start with the three words. Sympathy means you care or feel bad for someone or something that is suffering. Empathy means that you take on that pain, you hurt when you see someone or something suffering. You have the ability to imagine yourself in that situation and it causes you pain. Compassion comes out of sympathy and empathy, it is the move to act, the desire to do something to try and help stop the suffering you see. Stage One: I feel bad FOR you. I pity you.

**：我们看到了这样一些弱势生命群体，他们在街上和这个社会需要我们的帮助。直接表现是哇他们好可怜啊! Stage Two: I feel your pain, it hurts me to see you like this.

第二：换位思考后，了解到对方的处境，并心生怜悯，进一步能够分析出这种处境的原因。这里是指流浪狗的处境明白清楚，他们的存在是因为我们的人为行为他们的本性并不是野生的动物。而我们的责任和使命应该去关爱和陪伴他们。Stage Three: I want to relieve you of your pain or burden, let me help you somehow.

第三：对方处在的困境给出意见和解决办法，量身践行，帮助其摆脱困境。真正做到了你也就诠释了社会责任心的实质内涵。看看我们枫叶学子的行动力吧!诚然，我们的能力有限。我们清理了他们生活环境，尽量解决他们的基本温饱问题，然而他们更需要的是这种爱的陪伴和呵护。

However in Nanjing the help we could give was limited due to safety, resources and weather. We only had the chance to help with the never ending cleaning that the shelter has to keep up. We also brought food donations from our fund-raising efforts, 8 20kg bags of dog food which will likely only last up to 2 weeks with the amount of dogs they have to feed. What these dogs really need that we could only provide for 2 days, is companionship, care and love.

“It is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are its life, its love, its leader. It will be yours, faithful and true to the last beat of its heart”

狗狗一直是人类的朋友，你的陪伴，你的忠实守护者，而你却是他的一生，他唯一的爱，他生命的领导者，直到他生命的最后那一刻。

每一个生命都值得敬畏，甚至是微不足道的。社会是一个大家庭，大家庭里的每种生命成员都是我们的责任义务，让我们去守护这份美好与和谐，创建一个至和至善至美的生存空间，我们一起把这个生存空间叫做---“家”。请敬畏生命。

Every creature deserves the chance to live, even a tiny one. Every life deserves respect and caring. We all live in the large community we call society and all kinds of life are a part of this community. As the guardians of this community it is our responsibility to maintain the balance to create a harmonious and peaceful environment to make it a place we can ALL call home.
