A master of science in space systems from Florida Tech prepares students to perform in a wide variety of technical and managerial sectors in private industry, government agencies, or the military that are involved in the space program.

The master's in space systems program trains graduates to plan, design, build, integrate, test launch, operate or manage all forms of space systems, subsystems, launch vehicles, spacecraft, payload, and ground systems.

Training Graduates For Government Or Commercial Space Careers

Space systems experts create enhanced cost efficiency and integration of new technologies. The competencies covered in Florida Tech’s master’s in space systems management program include propulsion systems, power systems, spacecraft environment, astrodynamics, communications and data systems, and spacecraft dynamics and control.

Collaborative Learning

Students in this interdisciplinary degree program collaborate with colleagues in a variety of aerospace disciplines. Florida Tech professors are working professionals in the field, as are many of the students whose combined experience provides real-world insight about the industry. In lieu of a thesis, students in the master’s in space systems program complete a one-semester space mission team design project.

Career Paths

There are several career paths for individuals who earn a master’s in space systems, including space systems engineer, space systems operations, and space systems research. Graduates from Florida Tech are hired by private and government organizations, including Harris Corporation, Boeing, the US military, the European Space Agency, the Federal Aviation Agency, and NASA, among others. Two graduates of the program have even become NASA astronauts.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students looking to enroll in a master's degree program at Florida Tech must hold a bachelor's degree (four-year degree) in a related field from a recognized, regionally accredited college or university (or the international equivalent). Applicants must have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 as an undergraduate in order to be considered for admission to a Florida Tech master's degree program. Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) with an earned score of at least 79, an IELTS with an earned score of at least 6.0, a PTE Academic with an earned score of at least 58, a Cambridge English: Advanced with an earned score of at least 180 (Grade of C), an official Florida Tech TOEFL (paper-based) with an earned score of at least 550
