In 5 years, students can earn both a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology and a Master of Science (MS) in Bioinformatics.
Degree Requirements
Students in the accelerated BS Biology /MS Bioinformatics program must complete the following courses to fulfill the requirements both degrees.

- BIOL 111 General Biology I Laboratory (1 credit)
- BIOL 102 General Biology II (3 credits)
- BIOL 112 General Biology II Laboratory (1 credit)
- BIOL 251 Cell Biology (3 credits)
- BIOL 265 Ecology (3 credits)
- BIOL 282 Genetics (3 credits)
- BIOL 388 Bioinformatics (3 credits) [can count towards BIOL BS elective requirements]
One of the following:
- BIOL 252 Cell Biology Laboratory (1 credit)
- BIOL 266 Ecology Laboratory (1 credit)
- BIOL 283 Genetics Laboratory (1 credit)
