Enhance your electrical knowledge

Ride the wave of the technological era with USQ’s Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Electrical and Electronic). With the opportunity to study externally or on-campus, you will have the flexibility to adapt your study to your life. You can also choose to increase your knowledge further and combine your major studies in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with a four-unit minor in Management or Data Management.

Why Electrical?

Study the areas of analogue and digital computer engineering, work with rotating machines and drives and apply your knowledge through practical work experience and an exciting final year research project that will give you hands-on industry experience. Previous students have produced projects in the fields of properties of a nickel laminated magnetostrictive ultrasonic transducer, water electrolysis, biometric analysis and grid-connected solar photovoltaic systems.

Professional accreditation

When you graduate with your Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), you will be eligible to apply for membership with Engineers Australia as a graduate Professional Engineer. With the experience you will gain from working in the field, you may apply for chartered status as a Professional Engineer. You will also have the opportunity to work overseas, with your accreditation recognized in those countries that are signatories to the Washington Accord.

Career outcomes

Make a difference in the world of medical technology, communications or even spacecraft and satellites. With your applied experience, you have the opportunity to become an Electrical or Electronics Engineer or Telecommunications Engineer and work with some of Australia’s biggest companies including Energex, Ergon Energy and Origin or in the rapidly developing industries of mining and coal seam gas production.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students must have completed Senior High School Certificate with 70% or equivalent. Applications are based on comparisons with Australian Year 12 level examinations. English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic only) score of 6.0 (or better) (no component lower than 5.5); TOEFL (paper based) score of 550 (or better) (with a minimum Test of Written English Score of TWE 4.5); TOEFL (electronic or computer based) score of 213 (or better) (with essay rating of at least 4.5); TOEFL (internet based) score of 80 (or better) (with 19 minimum in all bands); Pearson (PTE Academic) score of 50 (or better) (with no communicative score less than 50); Cambridge English: First (FCE)/ B2 First with a score of 169 or above. No less than 162 in each skill.
