The coming of spring heralds the beginning of the new year. Today, on New Year’s Eve, on behalf of Shanghai Maple Leaf International School, I would like to extend the most sincere holiday greetings and the best New Year blessings to the diligent, knowledgeable, enterprising, and eager students, to the faculty and staff who go all out to serve our community, to the alumni from home and abroad; to friends from all walks of life who have cared about and supported the reform and development of the school for a long time. 岁月不居，天道酬勤。过去的2020年，是枫叶国际学校建校25周年，也是全体海枫人高举奋进大旗，心往一处想、智往一处谋、劲往一处使，推动学校各项事业蓬勃发展的一年。2020年，是人类史上最不平凡的一年：全体师生经历了新冠肺炎灾难大考，更加懂得了要敬畏生命、敬畏规则、敬畏自然、敬畏科学和努力奋斗;2020年，是海枫人努力拼搏的一年：学校实现了稳健发展，第五届(2020届)高中毕业生163人，有59.8%的学生被QS排名前50强大学录取，其中12名学生被世界前10强大学录取;隆重举办了上海站枫叶第16届教育博览会，11个国家107所大学招生代表参展，创历史新高;2020年，枫叶世界学校课程成功起航，枫叶教育、枫叶愿景、枫叶梦想焕发每一个枫叶人的斗志!“师者，传道授业解惑也”，教育真正的内涵要求为师者不仅是知识的传授者，更要是学生成人成才的引路人，教师的成功不仅仅在于教学成绩，更在于授给学生知识以外的一切品行、思维和能力，并能经受住学生用一生的时间去检验。2020年，历经波折，我们接受的有来自外界的挑战，也有心中教育良知的鞭策，因为良知，所以奋斗，因为奋斗，所以行稳致远;慢慢地，我们走过“栉风沐雨”，满满地，我们迎来“春华秋实”。为者常成，行者常至;这一年，上海枫叶国际学校有探索的艰辛，有拼搏的豪情，更有收获的喜悦。

Chen, Shou says time flies and yet the hard-working people will always be rewarded. The year 2020 is the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Maple Leaf International School, and all Shanghai Maple Leafers have forged ahead this year. They are united as one, and they have helped achieve the prosperity of the school. The year 2020 is possibly the most extraordinary year in human history: all teachers and students have experienced the test of the pandemic, and they have learned to revere life and rules, revere nature and science, and work hard. In 2020, all Shanghai maple leafers have worked hard: The school has achieved steady development. There were 163 graduates from the high school in 2020, and 59.8% of the students were admitted to the top 50 universities in the QS ranking. 12 of them were admitted to the top 10 universities in the world. In 2020, Shanghai Maple Leaf held the 16th Maple Leaf Education Expo. Representatives of 107 colleges from 11 countries participated in the exhibition, a record high. In 2020, The Maple Leaf World School program successfully set sail. Maple Leaf Education is Vision, and Dreams will rejuvenate the spirit of Maple Leaf! The job of the teacher is to impart knowledge, provide guidance and dispel doubts. The true meaning of education requires that teachers are not only the imparters of knowledge, but also the guides for students to become a fully developed social-being. The success of teachers lies not only with teaching achievements, but also with guiding students’ behaviors, thinking and abilitiy, to withstand the test of time. In 2020, after going through ups and downs, we have not only accepted challenges from the outside world but we have also been reminded of the importance of education in our hearts. Because of our conscience, we struggle, and because of our struggle, we are achieving steady and far-reaching growth. Gradually, we have gone through the "wind and rain". Gradually, our hard work will bear fruit. Those who keep on walking often reach their destination; and those who keep up their efforts often achieve their goal. This year, Shanghai Maple Leaf International School staff and students have experienced the spirit of exploration, the pride of hard work, and the joy of fruition.

弦歌不辍，砥砺前行。2021年，我们仍要着眼于学生的终身发展，御风而行，锚住信仰。知常明变者赢，守正出新者进，2021年，我们必须推陈出新，以育为计，增量促质;2021年，希望海枫人个个成担当的“干将”、当创新的“闯将”、做育人的“工匠”。我坚信，只要我们枫叶人枕戈待旦去把握、朝乾夕惕去奋斗、埋头苦干去成就每一天，汇聚起枫叶人的磅礴之力，以真抓的实劲、敢抓的狠劲、善抓的巧劲、常抓的韧劲，不忘初心，牢记使命，瞄准时间表，盯住路线图，执行任务书，把握新目标，一定能够不负时代丰厚馈赠，奏出海枫发展的**音!

In 2020, We will continue to overcome obstacles and forge ahead. We still have to focus on the life-long development of students. People who know normal principles but understand flexibility are the winners in life. People who stick to the right way and are good at keeping pace with the times will make continuous progress. In 2021, we must promote the old and bring forth the new, prioritize education and increase the quality of teaching. In 2021, we hope that all Shanghai Maple Leafers will become responsible and innovative. We hope that all students will become brave and practical citizens of Maple Leaf. I firmly believe that as long as we Maple Leafers are always ready to grasp the future and struggle ahead to make each day count, we will harness the real strength, the daring strength and the moral strength of the Maple Leafer. Not forgetting the original intention, we must cherish our valuable time, keep focusing on the target, and keep striving for the future. With this mission in mind, we will surely live up to the new goals, and develop the prosperity of Shanghai Maple Leaf.
