As the aviation industry continues to grow globally and technology advancements are made in aircraft structures, systems and management processes, supervisory and management staff with a focused understanding of the aviation industry is becoming highly desirable. The Aviation Management and Safety major will help you tap into that demand.

As part of your studies, you will also undertake courses in airline and airport structures, and the safety management systems that underpin their complex operations and the business strategies which make them successful.

You also have the option to choose a second major from a range of business and commerce fields to shape the career you want and strengthen your position.

Career outcomes

As a graduate, you will be equipped to enter a career within business and management specialty areas such as operations, logistics, safety, marketing, human resources within the aviation industry, or other graduate positions in the aviation regulatory or investigative areas of Government.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students must have completed Senior High School Certificate with 70% or equivalent. Applications are based on comparisons with Australian Year 12 level examinations. English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic only) score of 6.0 (or better) (no component lower than 5.5); TOEFL (paper based) score of 550 (or better) (with a minimum Test of Written English Score of TWE 4.5); TOEFL (electronic or computer based) score of 213 (or better) (with essay rating of at least 4.5); TOEFL (internet based) score of 80 (or better) (with 19 minimum in all bands); Pearson (PTE Academic) score of 50 (or better) (with no communicative score less than 50); Cambridge English: First (FCE)/ B2 First with a score of 169 or above. No less than 162 in each skill.
