Do you want to study a science degree by distance or on-campus to position yourself for an exciting career in the emerging ‘green’ professions? With a focus on climatology, ecology and conservation, the Bachelor of Science (Environment and Sustainability) is designed for those of you wanting to explore environmental science, biodiversity conservation, and practical aspects of climate change mitigation and adaptation and natural resource management for more a sustainable future. Want to understand more about major environmental issues and the social, political and environmental implications of human impacts on the globe? We look forward to sharing our knowledge and experience with you.

Career outcomes

Are you passionate about working in resource management, biodiversity conservation or climate change? Specifically, our graduates find work as Climatologists, Climate Scientists, Climate Policy Analysts, Agricultural Scientists, Conservation and Biodiversity Managers, Environmental Consultants, Environmental Scientists and Natural Resource Managers. Industries and employers you may find yourself working for include the resources/mining industries, National Parks, universities, defense organizations, CSIRO, State and Federal Government Departments, the Australian Bureau of Meteorology and many other organizations contributing to sustainable utilization and management of our natural resources. Some of our graduates also choose to work as Science Teachers (with further study) or Science Journalists.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students must have completed Senior High School Certificate with 70% or equivalent. Applications are based on comparisons with Australian Year 12 level examinations. English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic only) score of 6.0 (or better) (no component lower than 5.5); TOEFL (paper based) score of 550 (or better) (with a minimum Test of Written English Score of TWE 4.5); TOEFL (electronic or computer based) score of 213 (or better) (with essay rating of at least 4.5); TOEFL (internet based) score of 80 (or better) (with 19 minimum in all bands); Pearson (PTE Academic) score of 50 (or better) (with no communicative score less than 50); Cambridge English: First (FCE)/ B2 First with a score of 169 or above. No less than 162 in each skill.
