在这里学什么？This major provides students with a detailed understanding of Immunology, the study of our immune system. The major describes how Immunology is studied and applied to a range of areas in the biomedical sciences. The major opens up careers in infectious diseases, diagnostics, molecular biology, biotechnology, vaccinology, biosafety and regulation as well as providing an avenue towards post-graduate research into infectious agents, their genes, underlying mechanisms of infectious disease and diseases associated with the immune system. It provides a basis for further study into medicine and other paramedical disciplines.
Students intending to undertake this major should be aware that it requires successful completion of a practical-based subject in which products and reagents derived from animals are used.
The incidence of diseases associated with the immune system, such as allergies and autoimmune diseases is increasing, and treatment and prevention of many infectious diseases is difficult because we don’t have effective vaccines.
Immunology is a rapidly evolving science and new knowledge can be applied to the development and clinical use of new immune-based therapies for cancer and infectious diseases, prevention of transplantation responses as well as allergies and autoimmune diseases.
In this major you’ll learn how immunology — the study of the human immune system, which controls infections and provides immunity against micro-organisms — can apply to a range of areas in the biomedical sciences.
This major lays the foundation for further study in medicine and paramedical disciplines.

为来自中国的学生设计 To be eligible for entry to an undergraduate degree you must fulfill all of the following requirements: Complete the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or an overseas qualification equivalent to Australian Year 12. English language requirements: TOEFL - Paper based test - a score of 577 or more including a score of 4.5 in the Test of Written English. Internet based test - a score of 79 and scores of: Writing: 21, Speaking: 18, Reading: 13, Listening 13. IELTS (Academic) - an overall band score of 6.5 or more in the Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS), with no bands less than 6.0. Pearson Test of English (Academic) - an overall score of between 58-64 inclusive and achieve no PTE communicative skills score below 50.
