美国夢沃学校(上海)2016届毕业生代表魏佳曼同学致辞

Speech by Carman Wei, representative of graduates

Distinguished guests, faculty members, family and friends, and dear fellow graduates,

尊敬的来宾，老师，家人和朋友们，亲爱的毕业生同学们，

Good morning. It is my honor to be speaking to you at this graduation ceremony.

上午好!能作为毕业生代表在这里发言，我深感荣幸。

I welcome you all and hope that you feel as proud as I do to be a part of MVA Shanghai.

欢迎大家来参加我们的毕业典礼，能成为梦沃的一份子我非常自豪，也希望你们能像我一样因梦沃而自豪。

Can you believe it? We have studied at MVA Shanghai for three years and we have all survived. We’ve grown and become more mature; we have overcome every single difficulty and challenge.

现在回首，是否觉得有些难以置信。 我们已经在梦沃学习三年了，而且全都成功地坚持了下来。三年间我们不断成长，也变得更加成熟。三年间，我们不断克服遇到的困难和挑战。

There are many times I felt stressed and helpless. However, I have you.

有许多时候，我感到伤心无助。 不过，幸好，我还有你们。

Without my friends listening to and encouraging me, I would not have been able to make up my mind to try again.

如果没有朋友的倾听和鼓励，我可能无法下定决心，努力尝试。

Without my family’s caring, I would not have been able to regain my strength and confidence after a failure.

如果没有家人的关心和呵护，我可能无法在失败后重拾信心和力量。

Without the faculties’ help and support, I would not have been able to solve academic problems, life issues or apply for universities.

如果没有老师的帮助和支持，我可能无法解决学习和生活上的难题，也无法顺利申请大学。

I see a huge difference in each senior: MVA shanghai has changed us. Some of us were very shy and some of us were serious rule breaker. But now they’ve became shining stars on the stage and, some of the most responsible and caring people in our school.

我看到每位高年级同学和刚入校时比都有了很大的改变，是梦沃改变了我们。曾经非常害羞的同学现在已经是舞台上闪耀的明星;曾经喜欢违规捣乱的同学，现在已成为学校里最有责任心，最懂得关心他人的同学。

“Excellence is not a skill. It is an attitude,” as Ralph Marston put it. He is right. If we are willing to change we can always do our best.

正如拉尔夫·马斯顿所说“卓越不是一项技能而是一种态度。”我非常同意他的观点，也相信只要我们愿意改变，我们就可以成就比较好的自己。

I’m also a totally different person than I was coming in as a freshman three years ago. I was afraid to face conflicts and rather would follow someone’s back. However, I wanted to be independent and capable so I participated actively in class and even ran for president though I had no experience and was not one hundred percent sure.

与三年前刚来到这里相比，我的变化也很大。曾经我害怕矛盾和冲突，总是躲在别人身后，可同时又渴望变得独立自强。因此，在梦沃我积极参加课堂讨论，甚至去竞选学生会**，尽管当时自己毫无经验而且十分忐忑。

Fake it until you make it! There is nothing wrong with this, and actually I believe it is an important step to becoming who you want to be.“

现在做不到的事，可以先假装自己能够做到，久而久之便真的可以做到。”这是著名的积极心理暗示法。因此，假装自己能够做到也没什么不好，事实上我认为这种方法对于我们成为自己想成为的人非常有帮助。

So here we are.

现在我们都已成为更好的自己。

High school graduation is a milestone. However, it is not an ending but a new start. We will go to college. But where is your final destiny? Honestly, I do not know the answer. It is still not clear for me.

高中毕业是我们人生中重要的里程碑，意味着一段时光的结束，更意味着一个崭新的开始，我们将步入大学校园。不过，你知道自己最终要去向哪里吗?老实说，我不知道。我现在依然有些茫然。

If you do not know it either, I guess it is fine. C. JoyBell C said, “You may not know where you're going, but so long as you spread your wings the winds will carry you.”

如果你也不知道，我想，也没有关系。作家乔贝尔曾说：“你可能不知道自己要去向何方，但是只要你张开翅膀，风儿便会带你远行。”

We are still on the way to finding out our own interests and need to keep exploring ourselves.

我们依然走在发现自我，探索自我的道路上。

We have picked a different road from most Chinese students, and the road ahead won’t always be easy.

与中国大多数同龄人相比，我们选择了一条不一样的道路，前方免不了会有崎岖艰险。

There are many obstacles for international students and foreigners.

在异国他乡学习生活肯定会遇到诸多困难。

However, we have our dream.

幸好，我们还有梦想，可以给予我们力量。

We are the new generation and we will be the ones who bring China to the World.

我们是新的年轻一代，需要向世界展现中国。We have to make it happen. 我们定会成为优秀的文化使者。

So we are going to go out there and make a difference.

我们将扬帆远行，创造非凡，让世界因我们而更加美好!
