With USQ’s Bachelor of Business and Commerce become a leading workplace expert on strategies and practices for guiding and partnering with employees so that the people working for the business are motivated to provide a source of competitive advantage for the business.

This is becoming increasingly challenging as workplaces become more diverse and place greater emphasis on work-life balance in order to recruit, retain and develop top talent. Your studies will cover courses such as organizational behavior and management, talent management, workforce design, risk mitigation, work health and safety, workplace relations, enhancing employee performance, organizational learning, strategic human resource management, managing knowledge and leading organizational change.

In addition to your chosen specialization of Human Resource Management, you can choose to study another area in-depth with a second major, or broaden your knowledge with a combination of minors and electives. These can be chosen from a wide range of business and commerce-related fields.

Professional accreditation

The Human Resource Management major is presently accredited by the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) and satisfies the educational requirements for professional membership of AHRI.

Career outcomes

Graduates have potential opportunities to engage in private consultancy services related to all aspects of human resources, in addition to advocacy work with industrial relations consultancies, unions, and industry and employer associations. Graduates also have the potential to achieve senior and executive level positions such as human resources director, organizational development director, compensation and benefits director, industrial relations director, recruitment manager, career counselor, safety and welfare co-ordinator.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students must have completed Senior High School Certificate with 70% or equivalent. Applications are based on comparisons with Australian Year 12 level examinations. English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic only) score of 6.0 (or better) (no component lower than 5.5); TOEFL (paper based) score of 550 (or better) (with a minimum Test of Written English Score of TWE 4.5); TOEFL (electronic or computer based) score of 213 (or better) (with essay rating of at least 4.5); TOEFL (internet based) score of 80 (or better) (with 19 minimum in all bands); Pearson (PTE Academic) score of 50 (or better) (with no communicative score less than 50); Cambridge English: First (FCE)/ B2 First with a score of 169 or above. No less than 162 in each skill.
