This Chinese New Year holiday has been adifficult and challenging time for China and for our school. As China confronts the COVID-19 virus therehas been no person and no institution in China that has been unaffected by thisworld-shaking event. We know that eachof you and your families have experienced daily difficulties during this timeand want to express our sincere thoughts to those who have been affected by thevirus. For our BC teachers, many of whowent home or to other locations around the world, it is uncertain at this timeabout when they will be able to return to China due to flight cancellations,the current 14-day quarantine and personal health concerns. This letter is being written to let you know howyour studies will be continued in the new semester.

这次春节假期对于中国以及学校都是艰难且具有挑战的，震惊世界的新冠状肺炎病毒疫情正全面影响着中国。我们深知您和您的家人都在经历这一艰难时期，在此，向您表达我们最诚挚的关怀。加方员工多数已经回加拿大或其他国家，由于国外航班的取消政策、14天的自我隔离要求以及出于个人健康考虑，导致目前无法确认回到中国的日期，因此，特写此信向您说明新学期的学习计划和安排。

BC teachers are planning to start the newsemester using an online teaching platform called Canvas. Teachers will be able to load lessons andprovide learning activities and assignments through this web-basedplatform. The first thing you will needto access this is your Maple Leaf Office 365 email address and password. This will allow you to log onto the system,see courses, complete assignments and connect with your teachers. Mr. Lam has been working to make sure thateveryone has an email address and will be in communication with yourcounsellors who will have this for you if you are not sure. Here are the locations you will need toaccess:

加方教师新学期将使用“Canvas”网上授课平台，教师可通过此网络平台上传课程内容、布置相关学习活动及作业。首先您需要枫叶办公365邮箱地址和密码来登入系统、查看课程、完成作业并及任课教师。加方课程副校长一直在致力于确保每名学生都有邮箱账号，并会和领事保持沟通，在不确定邮箱地址和密码时，您可直接领事。下面是平台进入：

• To log on to your Office 365email you need to log on with your username and password to www.office.com

• 登录365邮箱：点击 www.office.com，输入用户名和密码。

• To logon to Canvas and see your courses user the SAME username and passwordhere

• 登录Canvas查看课程：点击，输入同一个用户名和密码。

• To seeyour marks in PowerSchool log in here

• 查看学籍系统成绩：点击。

Teachers will be at work on this system and haveinitial assignments ready by the school opening date on March 2nd. Youwill receive more instructions about how this works during the next two weeksso please check your 365 email regularly.

We hope that we will soon be able to resumeregular classes in school. Once we do,there will be a new calendar to make up the days missed which is attached tothis email. Please note the extraSaturdays and changes to professional days as well as school being extendeduntil June 30th.

Please take care of yourselves and follow goodhygiene and prevention methods to ensure your own personal health. Washing your hands is the most importantactivity to prevent the spread of the virus and any other harmful germs orbacteria.
