A letter to Grade 12 Parents from BC Principal

Dear Parents,

尊敬的家长，

I have had time to reflect more and consult with others, including our Superintendent of Schools: BC Programs, Mr. James Beeke, on questions raised by some of you, as parents of our students, during our recent Maple Leaf University Student Recruitment Fair. I would like to correct and more clearly respond to the issues that were raised.

关于最近在大学教育展上部分家长因为高三英语课程设置而提出的问题，我经过认真思考并了其他加方领导，*括集团的加方校监詹姆斯.比克先生。在此，我想纠正并更加清晰地对提出的问题做出回应。

1. Regarding comments made by the recruiter from the University of Alberta to some students and parents at the Fair, please note that Dr. Sherman Jen and James Beeke had positive meetings at the University of Alberta this past month, including a meeting with Lisa Collins, Vice Provost and University Registrar. Mr. Beeke will contact Ms. Collins to obtain assurance from her that no graduating Maple Leaf applicant will be disadvantaged for admission by the U of A if he/she satisfactorily undertakes English 12 during the second semester this school year. Mr. Beeke will verify that the statement recently provided in writing by the University of Alberta's Registrar's Admission Office is correct, which states "Taking English 12 in Term 2 will not affect our consideration as long as the applicant has declared they will have this completed by August 1, including the five required subjects for their program."

1、关于教育展上阿尔伯塔大学招生代表给学生和家长的交流内容。集团董事长任书良博士和加方校监比克先生在前一个月到阿尔伯塔大学访问时，专门同*括副校长和大学注册主任Lisa Collins女士召开了会议。比克校监和Collins女士确认枫叶高三学生不会因为在本学年第二学期学习高三英语而在录取时候受到不利影响。集团加方校监比克先生将会在近期再次核实阿尔伯塔大学提供的书面说明是正确的，即“在第二学期学习高三英语不会影响我们的决定，只要学生申请人提前告知大学将会在8月1日完成这门课程以及其他5门该专业要求的学科。

2. I am confident that our grade 12 students will perform well and achieve the same significant English achievements as other Maple Leaf high schools have done, including similar successes in English 12.

2、我很有信心的认为：我们校区的高三毕业生将会像其他枫叶高中学生一样表现优秀并达到同样的英语能力，*括在高三英语课程上也能取得成功。

3. While Maple Leaf International School - Shanghai was stretched tight for teachers this past September, since then more BC-certified, full-time teachers have been added to our faculty to provide us with a solid teaching staff for our high school program.

3、虽然在本学期开学初，上海枫叶国际学校加方师资安排确实比较紧张，但后来，我们陆续增加了几名全职加方老师，为高中教学提供了充分的保障。

4. Maple Leaf International School - Shanghai will continue to provide and work closely with its Academic Advisor teachers and Graduation Center staff and you as parents to do our best to ensure that our graduating students obtain necessary admissions and student visas and that they transition well into universities and programs that meet their needs and future options in a fitting manner.

4、校方将会一如既往地把加方课程指导中心、留学中心与家长们紧密**和配合，努力保障我们的毕业生获得录取及签证，并顺利过渡到大学学习和专业项目。

I want to close by reassuring every parent that the administration, teaching faculty and staff members of Maple Leaf International School - Shanghai are fully committed to doing everything possible for the best of our students and their future. We will uphold the same high standard of success enjoyed by all Maple Leaf High Schools, i.e. 97+% of graduates entering reputable universities or colleges after graduation, 较高概率 success rate in obtaining student visas (study permits) to Canada to attend Canadian universities, etc. so that the graduates of 2016 will join the nearly 10,000 Maple Leaf graduates who have or are studying at more than 500 universities in 26 countries around the world.

最后，我想说请家长们放心，上海枫叶国际学校的管理团队，教师队伍以及全体员工会尽自己一切可能为学生和他们的未来做比较好的准备。我们将会同其他枫叶高中维持同样的高标准的表现，如97%以上的毕业生进入到知名大学或学院，申请加拿大签证***较高概率等等。在2016年6月，我们学校的毕业生也将加入已近10000名枫叶校友毕业生的队伍之中，也将在全球26个国家和地区的500多所高校之列就读。
