By studying the Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science (Honours) with a major in Clinical Exercise Physiology, you can explore the benefits of exercise and how it can assist in improving overall health preventing disease, promoting disease recovery, and injury rehabilitation.

Become an Accredited Exercise Physiologist

This degree provides you with the opportunity to seek accreditation with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) as an exercise physiologist. As such you will specialise in prescribing exercises and lifestyle therapies to help patients get fitter for all around good health, or to treat chronic disease, injury and disability.

Once qualified, you will be able to apply for a Medicare provider number and be recognised by private health funds for exercise physiology sessions. This will enable you to work with General Practitioners to assist with patient care under the general practice management plan (which is part of the Medicare rebate scheme).

Professional accreditation

The Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science (Honours) is provisionally accredited by Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA).

Career outcomes

Graduates can find work as accredited clinical exercise physiologists within the health, exercise, sports, and fitness industry. Accredited exercise physiologists work across many areas of clinical care, including in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, musculoskeketal injury management, occupational rehabilitation, cancer care, neurological disease management, and mental health care.
