我叫任雨藤，现就读于梦沃10年级。一年前，我来到梦沃，发现这里的课堂不再像讲座，且“参与度”成为重要的评分标准，在文科中，许多小组项目和演讲报告取代了试卷;另一方面，自主学习时间因课堂节数的缩短而变得很多。

我记得来刚来的几个月里，面对这么多的自主管理的空闲时间，我失去了以往有的紧迫感和责任感。因此，我在处理这个自由世界时放弃了良好的学习习惯;当然，这导致我的成绩下降。随着时间的推移，我意识到掌握在我手中的自由逐渐演变为释放我玩心的借口，因此我失去了目标和努力方向，而这不是我想要，我不得不开始让自己回到正轨，从强迫自己专注做起，花了3个多月的时间才调整回状态。此后这造就了我现在的稳定局面，一切安排开始变得井然有序。我的时间分配允许我尽可能多地学习高水平的课程高效，并加快我的进步，这也反映在我的成绩上。当我进入更高级别的英语课，在次次论文和考试中我意识到思维和独立思考的能力是项非常重要的技能。现在回顾之前的文章和写作，我发现我的写作技巧和分析深度有明显提升。

我很荣幸能够有机会作为交换生在梦沃佛罗里达学习，我将珍惜这个机会，在每一个可能的领域提高自己;在国外不熟悉的环境中快速适应将是一个挑战，但同时也很令人兴奋。我希望我能把我的学习作为我的首要任务，并组织好自己各方面。相信这次经验将帮助我成长，并给我一个不同的生活视角。

My name is Lancy, a 10th grader of MVASH.One year ago, I came to MVA where classes are no longer lectures and our participation becomes a big part of the grade; projects and presentations are replacing assignment sheets in liberal arts.

Also, self-study time increased as the school time shrinked.

I remembered the first few months at school, I lost my sense of responsibility so to speak; I mean so muchfree timeto manage. Thus Igave up good study habits while dealing with this world of freedom; of course, this caused my grades to go down.As time went by, I realizedthat freedom in my hand graduallyevolvedinto an excuse for releasing my playful heart.Those attitudes were dragging me down toa mindless and nonambitious person. As you can imagine this was not the way I wanted things to turn out. Then I had to start forcing myself to focus and get myself back on track; it took me 3 long months to manage thisadjusting period.Afterwards, this led to my previous stable situation.After overcoming this awful ordeal, I gained control again and everything started coming together. My time distribution now allowed me to learn as much as I could in high level courses efficiently; it reflected on my grades and sped up progress. When I joined stream English courses, I realised that critical thinking and the ability to develop thesis by myself were very important skills in essays and exams. Creative writing, class assignments are all training our ability to think independently. Whenlook back on my previous essays and creative writing, I can see my writing skills and analysis have improved greatly and a better in depth critical thinking.

I am proud to say that because of my hard work and being a Honor role student, I have the opportunity to study in MVA Florida as an exchange student, I will cherish this as a chance to improve myself in every single area possible. It’s a challenge to quickly adapt in an unfamiliar environment abroad, but it is exciting. I Hope I can keep my studies as my number one priorityand organize myself well. I will cherish in my heart knowing that this experience will help me mature and have a different perspective of life.

张苑 Amy

我是张苑，现在就读于梦沃上海10年级。我从八年级下学期就来到了梦沃。刚转来时，我遇到了种种不适：从母语全中文授课到全英文授课，上课常听不懂，不理解;作业量减少了很多，要更加重视培养自主学习的能力;与外教交流时会有障碍，觉得尴尬。不过经过一段时间的自我适应和调节后，我渐渐进入状态。努力一天天累积也有了成果，比如，这次评选上交换生，我感到非常荣幸。

回想当初，从全母语到全英文听课有一段适应期。作业、练习和思维方式，我都从以前的学习状态中调整过来。在国际学校，没有老师会逼迫学生去学习，同时自主学习的时间也很多，大家都自行安排学习时间。刚入学时，我保持着紧张的学习状态，每一节自习时间，每一堂课我都认真对待。薄弱科目我会与老师积极沟通，课后也会花大量的时间复习和预习，最终拿到了好成绩。

除了学业上的变化，我还看到学长学姐都在做公益活动。之前我从来没有做过公益活动，除了去医院做志愿者之外，就没有其他经验了。这些活动让我觉得很新颖，于是心中也萌发了做公益的想法。读八年级，我就开始创办公益音乐会，得到了学姐学长们的支持和鼓励，他们非常积极地参与进来，也使**届公益音乐会顺利结束。之后，九年级到十年级，公益音乐会从未停止，与此同时，我也坚持创办了两个学期的环境保护社团了。这个成就是我以前从未想过的，但现在却真真切切地呈现在我面前。

能够成为交流生，我真的感到非常荣幸，我即将去佛罗里达学习，总校的学习气氛很让我向往和期待，我将继续保持良好的学习状态，再接再厉。

Hello, I’m Amy, a 10th grader. I came to MVA Shanghai in the spring semester when I was an 8th grader. When I first came here, I encountered lots of difficulties: the courses were taught in English, not like the Chinese environment I was used to, and I could not understand them at all; homework became much less and the learning method was switched to self-directed learning; I was often embarrassed by my inability to communicate fluently with foreign teachers. After a period of self-adaptation and adjustment, i gradually came to myself. I could feel my progress during the day-after-day learning and accumulation. It is a great honor for me to be selected as one of the two exchange students to MVA Florida.

As I said just now, there was a period of time when I was struggling to adapt to this new learning environment, in terms of homework, practice and way of thinking. In an international school, no teacher will nag you to study any longer. You are given plenty of self-study time and you have to make your own study plan. When I first came to MVA Shanghai, I was very hard-working and attentive in every class and made full use of every self-study class. I would actively communicate with the teachers to improve my weak subjects and devote most of my after-class time to review and preview. Therefore, I have got pretty good scores.

Apart from academic performance, I also learned that many seniors were undertaking some sort of charity activity. Besides some volunteer service in a hospital, I had no other experience in this regard. Such activities gave me a novel feeling and inspired me to take part in some charity activities. When I was still an 8th grader in MVA, I started the first charity music show with the support and encouragement of the seniors. Their active participation made the first charity music show very successful. Since then, the charity music show has been on for almost 2 years. Apart from this charity music show, I also started an environmental protection club, which has been operated for two semesters. I had never thought I could accomplish these but now here I am.

It is such a great honor to be chosen as one of the two exchange students. Next semester, I will go to MVA Florida, to whose campus and learning atmosphere I am looking forward. I will continue working hard to improve myself academically and contribute more to the community.

Selection Rules on Exchange Students

Every semester MVA Shanghai will choose one or two of its top students to study in MVA Florida for one semester. In line with the principle of fairness and equality, the following selection rules shall be observed:

1、 交换生在美国夢沃学校(上海)需就读一年或以上;

The student shall have studied in our school for at least a year;

2、该生GPA和行为规范综合评价在全体学生中名列前茅;

The student shall be at the top of our school in terms of both

academic and non-academic performance.

3、该生或该生家长为学校荣誉做出了巨大努力;

The student or his/her parent has contributed a lot to this school.

4、该生赴美交换一学期后必须同意回到美国夢沃学校(上海)完成学业，该生家长需和学校签订相关法律文件，以**此条例的执行;

After one semester in Florida, the student shall come back to MVA Shanghai to continue his/her study. His/her parents shall sign some legal documents with MVA Shanghai to ensure the execution of this rule.

5、该生须**在美国夢沃学校就读期间，遵守总校的各项规章制度，并继续为美国夢沃学校(上海)荣誉而战。

This student shall obey the rules of MVA Florida and continue fighting for the honor of MVAShanghai!
