MVA Growth Story Column focuses on telling the growth stories of excellent MVA students. On our way to grow and improve ourselves, we should learn from others, introspect ourselves and value daily accumulation.Hush!Let's hear the sound of their growth.
Casually and lazily leaning on the back of a chair as he is, eyes keen, he buries himself in drawing: pencils dancing on the paper sometimes stop to measure and think, and then continue. That’s a portrait of me when I am drawing. Perhaps drawing is the only thing that I can settle down to. I like watching a drawing grow on a blank sheet and gradually blossom in its best and unique color, which always gives me a strong sense of fulfilment.
A while back, my father wrote an autobiography titled An Ordinary Path: A Lawyer’s Road of Endeavor and I provided illustrations for this book:
As what the book title reveals, it talks how one can challenge himself to make breakthroughs through hard work. Reading my father’s autobiography reminded me of the old times and my memories flew through my pencil onto the paper.

I began to fall in love with drawing when I was in primary school. Look at my notebooks or exercise books in primary school or junior high school, you will find many rough sketches, because whenever something occurred to me I couldn’t help drawing it on whatever I had at my hand. Maybe my drawing ability was forged this way.
When I looked at those notebooks or exercise books later, I was often surprised by myself. As I grew older, I no longer left rough sketches everywhere and began to focus on the integrity of a drawing. Now even when it comes to a drawing where I must draw a huge amount of tiny and minor lines, which is insanely boring sometimes, I will be full of motivation and power again after I pause to see the growing drawing.
Here are some of my drawings.
