随着春天的到来，上海枫叶国际学校十年级的同学们在Ms. Madelyn Madamba老师的组织下于3月25日举办了文化展系列活动。

With the gentle breath of the spring, the 10th graders held the cultural fair that involved 20 cultures with the help of Ms. Madelyn Madamba on March 25th.

上海枫叶国际学校**届文化展

文博会是一项今年新举办的针对10年级在上英语课的同学们的活动。本次活动旨在展现异域文化的魅力，从文学、传统美食、名胜古迹、节日庆典、音乐、传统舞蹈等方面介绍。为参与学生们提供了一个充分融入不同文化的机会，同时，也是一次很好的活动释放压力的机会。

Cultural fair is a new-born activity for students who are in English 10. This activity displays the charm of exotic cultures by showing the culture’s key facts in a posture, such as literature, traditional foods, famous sites, holidays and celebrations, music and traditional dance, etc. It is a great activity for students which not only provide an opportunity to fully immerse ourselves in different cultures but also a chance to release the pressure. It is also a part of the cultural fair’s purpose, hoping that everyone can have fun.

在文博会上，每个小组负责一种文化，他们通常使用A1大小的海报来展示所选文化。同学们甚至能够在现场吃到当地文化特色菜肴，如烤肉、玉米饼等。甚至还有一本精美的小册子送给参与者。而参与者们需要从所有20种文化中收集邮票，去不同的文化中学习后获得盖章，前十名完成任务的学生，可以获得Ms. Madelyn Madamba 老师为大家准备的礼品。不管参与者们去到哪种文化，准备者们的热情总能身临其境的将参与者带入当地文化。

In the cultural fair, each group was responsible for one culture and they usually used an A1-sized poster to show the culture. Barbecue, tacos and traditional clothes were involved in this activity. There was even a delicate booklet that gave to the participants and served as the incentive in the cultural fair. Students needed to collect the stamp from all 20 cultures by going to different cultures, learning about it then get stamped so that they could get the award if they are the top ten fastest students. This element makes the cultural fair more entertaining. Whatever culture you are in, the enthusiasm and passion students had can always bring you to the actual cultural context. Many of them prepared traditional clothes and accessories of their chosen culture which strengthened the atmosphere.

文博会期间，很多老师同学都给予了积极评价如活动策划周密，研究深入等。在采访过程中，一些人认为这个活动是一个与枫叶世界课程的积极连接，并相信这项活动可以消除恐惧和误解的其他文化。尽管在准备过程中遇到的诸多麻烦，但最后的结果是非常的正向且令人兴奋的。在活动结束后，表现出色的5个小组因他们的模范表现被表彰。

During the cultural fair, the vast majority of students and teachers commented that this activity is well-planned and deep-researched. Some of them considered it is a defenestration of our world curriculum and it is believed that this activity can dispel fears and misunderstanding to other cultures. Though there were obstacles such as excessive work and reluctance to wear certain clothes, these difficulties were overcome with the help of students and friends. The result turned to fun and exciting for everyone who took part in it. At the end of the cultural fair, the top 5 groups were awarded with medals due to their exemplary performance during the cultural fair.

文化博览会是一项对于校园文化发展十分有意义的活动，帮助我们了解在不同文化背景下的人们为什么会有不同的习惯行为。我们期待着下一届文化博览的到来。

Cultural fair a meaningful activity that helps us to understand why people do things differently and dispels culture shock. Students are looking forward to the next cultural fair that brings fun and happiness.
