在上海枫叶国际学校美丽的校园中，有一位金发碧眼的美丽女子。当你看向她，她总是面带笑意。那就是我们的老师，Miss Phinney! 她在我们学校教十年级和十二年级的英语。她喜欢和她的学生聊天，不仅在于学习方面，还有生活日常和心情感受。非常幸运，她也是我的英语老师，今天，我们邀请到她来做一个小采访。值得一提的是，在采访过程中体现出了Miss Phinney的和蔼可亲和善解人意，这让整个采访更加轻松愉快且贴近生活。

In our beautiful campus, there is a gorgeous girl who has pretty blonde long hair and a couple of gentle blue eyes. When you look at her, she is always smiling. That’s our teacher, Miss Phinney! She teaches English10 and 12 in our school. She loves to communicate with her students, not only about study but also about their daily life and feelings. Very luckily, she is also my English teacher, today, we invited her to have a little talk. It’s worth mentioning that during the whole interview, Miss Phinney shows her kindness and understanding to me. It makes the interview more relax and close to life.

Q：Can you make a self introduction first?

你能给我们做一个自我介绍吗?

A：Hi, I am Miss Phinney. I love reading and swimming. I come from New Brunswick, which is a beautiful province in East Canada. In my hometown, my mother speaks French and my father speaks English, for this reason, English is not my first language but French. Anyway, I learned English very quickly by reading, writing and speaking in English, this is also a good way for my students to study English.

大家好，我是Miss Phinney!我喜欢阅读、游泳。我来自加拿大东部的一个美丽省区，新不伦瑞克。在我的家乡，我的母亲讲法语而我的父亲讲英语，因此英语并不是我的**语言。但我通过阅读、写作和勤练口语很快地提高了英语水平，这对我的学生来说也是一个很好的学习方式。

Q：What’s your major in university?

你大学时期的专业是什么?

A：My major are English literature, French literature and Education. After I got my literature degree, I get to my university again to get another degree of education. I love teaching! I enjoy to meet new people or students and teach them more and deep as I can. I have been teaching since I was 15, I taught swimming lessons. I travel around and I used to teach French and English to immigrants in Canada, and I taught English in Korean and Japanese. Now I come to teach Chinese students in MLIS-SH!

我的专业是英语、法语文学和教育。在我得到文学的学位以后，我又回到大学学习教育专业。我热爱教书育人! 我很享受遇见新学生，以及尽我所能教育他们的乐趣，我从15岁左右就开始教人游泳。同时我周游四海，曾经教加拿大移民英语和法语，在日本和韩国教英语等等。现在我来到上海枫叶教中国学生啦!

Q: Are there any differences between Canada and China? For example, in climate,food...

加拿大和中国有什么区别吗?例如气候、食物等方面。

A：It’s interesting to see the differences between countries. Winter in Canada is very cold, the snow could be very thick on the floor (even as tall as the ceiling) and the temperature now is -32℃ or even lower in my hometown. The food culture is also different! In Canada my mom always cooks potatoes, pie and meat, but in China I fell in love with hotpots and pancakes.

在这期间，我发现各国之间的差异也十分有趣。比如说加拿大的冬天很冷，雪几乎和房顶一样高，而且现在我老家的温度已经到零下32度了。饮食文化也有很大的不同，在加拿大我的妈妈经常烹饪土豆、制作派和肉类，但在中国我渐渐爱上火锅和煎饼了

Q：How about students between different countries, like China and Canada?

不同国家的学生有什么差别,比如就中加学生而言?

A: Teaching student in different countries give me different feelings. When I teach local students in Canada it is easy to talk about pop culture like movies and TV because we have the same culture background. But I prefer to teach foreign students so we can learn something new from each other which is cool!

教不同地区的学生也给我不同感受。跟加拿大当地的学生交流流行文化，例如电影电视一类的话题会更容易。但我更喜欢教中国学生，因为这样我们都可以从彼此身上学到新的东西。

Q：How do you make the little games in the lessons?

你是怎样想出在课上布置一些小游戏的?

A：I always design some little games or fun activities for my students to play when they are learning. Because I used to be a student either, I know students’ emotion when the teacher just speak by podium but don’t make any fun at all. So I hope I can let my students be more interesting through those games.

在课上我经常安排一些小游戏或者趣味活动，因为我曾经也是学生，我能理解老师在讲台上说个不停、完全不有趣的课堂会让学生厌烦。我希望这些活动可以增加学生对学习的兴趣。

Q：Do you have some suggestion to the students who will go abroad?

你对即将出国的学生有什么建议?

A: For the students who are planning to go aboard, the most important suggestion is make friend with local people. It’s necessary to walk out of your comfort circle and communicate with them. It can help you to improve speaking skills very quickly and it’s a good way to learn new culture. Hope all of you can enter your ideal university!

对于准备或即将出国的学生，我有一条很重要的建议，那就是跟当地的学生交朋友!走出舒适圈跟他们交流是很重要的。这可以帮助你提高口语能力，也是学习他国文化的很好的方式。希望你们都能顺利进入理想大学!
